MetaClearX privacy policy

Who we are

MetaClearX is developed by GoHappy Studio, operated by Yunus Şamlı, an independent developer based in Türkiye. For this app, GoHappy Studio is the data controller. You can reach us at contact@gohappystudio.com.

This policy covers the MetaClearX app. Our website has its own privacy policy.

Photos and videos you select

When you add files, MetaClearX reads their metadata and removes the parts you choose. All of this happens on your device. We never receive, store or see your photos, videos or their metadata.

MetaClearX uses the system photo picker, so it only reads the files you select. To save cleaned copies, the app asks for permission to add photos to your gallery. It never deletes or changes your originals.

Information stored on your device

The app stores your settings locally: language, theme, notification choices, your default selection and whether you own MetaClearX Pro. This data stays on your phone and is deleted when you delete the app.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising identifier (on iPhone only if you allow tracking), IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and app information and ad interactions.

• In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, we ask for your consent through Google's consent form before personalized ads are shown.
• On iPhone, the advertising identifier is only shared if you allow it in Apple's tracking prompt.
• On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings at any time.
• If you decline, you'll still see ads, but they won't be personalized.
• MetaClearX Pro removes all ads.

Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends a report so we can fix the problem. A report includes the device model, operating system version, app version, the time of the crash, technical details about the error and a random installation identifier. It is not linked to your identity and never contains your photos, videos or their metadata.

Notifications

MetaClearX can send two kinds of notifications, both only with your permission:

• Reminders are scheduled on your phone. No data is sent anywhere.
• News and offers are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging. For this, your device receives a push token and is subscribed to a topic based on your app language.

You can turn each type off in the app's Settings at any time.

Purchases

MetaClearX Pro is sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google and we never see your payment details. The app only checks with the store whether Pro has been purchased on your account.

Legal bases

Where the GDPR or Türkiye's personal data protection law (KVKK) applies, we rely on your consent for personalized ads and push notifications, on our legitimate interest in keeping the app stable for crash reports, and on the performance of a contract for purchases. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.

Sharing and international transfers

We don't sell or rent personal data. The only service providers involved are Google (AdMob, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging and Google Play) and Apple (App Store purchases and notifications on iPhone). Google may process data on servers outside your country, including the United States, using safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long data is kept

We keep no copies of your files. Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days. Push tokens are kept while notifications are active and are removed when they expire or when you delete the app. Advertising data is retained by Google under its own policies.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. Because MetaClearX has no accounts, we hold very little that can be linked to you. You can:

• change your ad consent in Settings, Privacy Choices;
• turn off tracking on iPhone in Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking, or reset your advertising ID on Android;
• turn off notifications in the app or in your phone's settings;
• delete the app to remove all locally stored data.

Children

MetaClearX is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 in the EEA, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll also let you know in the app.
